Message That looks exactly like the cv joint on a Porsche 944. I have done many of them. With the center piece inside the outer retaining ring, insert one ball at a time. They should go in the grooves of the center piece and lock into the cutouts of the outer piece. When you get to the last one or two they will get very tight. Carefully hold them in their approximate position and then smack the end with a large plastic mallet. They take a lot of pressure to "pop" in, but they will go. To do the ones on my Porsche ( without the axle shaft inserted) I had to lay the assembly on the floor and smack it very hard to pop it together. You cant use a press because the inside piece will rotate a hair when it pops in. The pop comes from actually flexing the outer ring over the last ball. Dont be afraid to smack it too hard. Hope this helps.

Have an idea that might help. You bring that to Boise, and I will put it together while you are putting a clutch into my N/A. I'll even buy the beers and pizza.
